I sat at my workbench this evening and contemplated working on the two headed zebra stone. As my creative energy emerged its intent was not to spend time with the figures this evening, but to have a discussion with the gray stone on the shelf that was in my line of vision.
After taking a few pictures ( for the before and after comparison) I began a closer examination of this odd shaped stone. I decided to just spend some time cleaning, clearing and smoothing the red dirt pits on the surface of the stone. What was emerging was not a gray stone but a stone that looked like 'melted chocolate ice cream.' What a pleasant surprise! So after two hours of cleaning and drilling an off- centered hole, an abstract form was beginning to take shape. The task now is to follow the natural surface dips of the stone and work to make the back relate to the front . We will flow with this process in anticipation of what will gradually emerge.
