![]() I had the pleasure and experience of learning the techniques for the development of "Encaustic Art." The process was quite interesting. This picture I call "butterfly wings" is one of my first attempts at this medium. This process uses beeswax with color pigments to achieve the color and light design. I am looking forward to this 2D art form being added to my collection of art mediums.

![]() VIEWPOINT: 21st Annual Strathmore Artists Juried Exhibition (March 24, 2012 - April 21, 2012) This is the juried exhibition of the season, an exquisite, exclusive show featuring works by Strathmore Artists: painters, sculptors, printmakers, photographers, mixed media artists and all manner of regional artisans. “NEMO” an orange alabaster sculpture was on view for this exhibition. I found this article, it took me back to my visit to Italy. A great and realistic description for a quiant city. I throughly enjoyed my stay there. Looking forward to a return trip .
http://internationalliving.com/2011/06/quirky-italian-town-life/# ![]() This is what evolved out of the 40lb block , topic of my last posting. The "Traveler" made his debut on the weekend before Thanksgiving at the "Winter Glow Show" held at the BlackRock Center For The Arts in Germantown ,Maryland. Traveler was one of three sculpture on exhibit at the gallery. The other sculptures were "Pachyderm Dreams" and " Kissed." ![]() It is a challenge to find the perfect piece of stone that will evolve into one of the many designs I am inspired to create. Sometimes the ideas in my head take a back seat to what the rock wants to be. I think this rock is a prime example, because I have walked pass it on the shelf for months and it doesn't seem to go along with any of my thoughts. So we ( the stone and I ) will collaberate and see what we can come up with. For now it is a 40lbs brown soapstone boulder. Starting with the clearing process, I examine it for a while and see what it wants to show me. I'm excited! Maybe if this goes well it can be one of thesculptures in the upcoming Winter Glow Show!!!
